BJP president Lakshman warned the makers to change the film title or else face the consequences of experiencing the power of the united Boya Community. He said the community is opposing the makers naming the gangster film after great sage Valmiki who penned the great epic Ramayana.

Boya Valmiki association President Gopi Boya alleged that the makers are trying to show Valmiki as a gangster. He said even before the start of the shooting, they met director Harish Shankar, producers Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta and requested them to change the title but they did not respond to their request.

He threatened that if Valmiki makers do not change the title, they will stop the film release.
