In Koduku Diddina Kapuram , Krishna narrated a scene where I have to hit Mahesh. I didn't feel like hitting a cute boy. Krishna told me that expression in the scene will get elevated only if I hit Mahesh. Finally he lost his patience and angrily asked "amma.. meeru kodatara.. kottara" Mahesh who was there told 'madam meeru kottandi..’ He looked even cute. I somehow managed the scene by touching Mahesh's cheeks."

In Mannan, Rajini remarked that pinky Vijayashanthi has the guts to hit him. She said "I did Netrikkan with Rajini in 1981 and missed Seethakoka Chiluka. From then I knew Rajini. Once he called on phone and said "Shanti garu. I am sending you a subject. Listen to it. If you do, it will be very good". Director Vasu came and narrated entire story. It was really good. There was a scene where I was required to slap Rajini. During that time fans never tolerated even mother characters hitting Rajini. I asked them to delete the scene and they agreed for the same. During the shooting once again it came for discussion. I told 'kottadam endukandi' and Rajini says 'parvaledandi' Somehow I completed the scene and the film turned out to be super hit.

During the film's success meet Sivaji Ganesan and others were there. Rajini told 'Only Vijayashanthi has the stature among the actors to hit me’. Sivaji used to admire me a lot. He remarked "en vazharpu magzhal vara paaru. He said 'Mannan (king) should have been titled as Manni (queen). Though there was no such word in Tamil."
