Director Not Allowed Entering Vijayawada

Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma yesterday announced to hold a press meet in Vijayawada at 4 PM as part promotions of his upcoming flick Lakshmi’s NTR. However, the press meet has been cancelled as police stopped the team entering Vijayawada. RGV claims that, they were sent back to Hyderabad forcibly.

RGV in series of tweets revealed what exactly happened in his arrival to Vijayawada. “I am In police custody now for the only crime of trying to tell truth ..THERE IS NO DEMOCRACY IN ANDHRA PRADESH.

Sorry to inform that the press meet at 4 pm is cancelled because the police stopped us and have barred my entry into Vijaywada and forcibly sending me back to hyderabad ..Hey @ncbn WHERE IS DEMOCRACY ? WHY IS TRUTH BEING BACK STABBED?”

RGV also posted a video showing how his producer Rakesh Reddy argued with police. As is known, Lakshmi’s NTR which did decent business in Telangana is set for release in AP on May 1st.
