Gone are the days when star heroes films used to complete 100 days with ease. During those days since theatre and films used to be the only source of entertainment, those records were possible. Now content is becoming the king and unless until the film gets a good talk, people are not keen to head to theatres.
Super Star like Rajinikanth too is deprived of box office success. His films 2.0 and Petta turned out to be disasters. Same is the case with Ram Charan's Vinaya Vidheya Rama which did 90 crs theatrical business. It is now finding it difficult to get even 60 crs due to huge negative talk.
Many are of the opinion that warning bells are ringing for Mega Star Chiranjeevi's upcoming period film Sye Raa which is made with Rs 150 crs. Despite huge demand for Chiranjeevi, distributors will always think twice to invest huge amounts over and above the market rate. To the top of it, mega family entertainers landed distributors in losses except Ram Charan's Rangasthalam.
Now speculation is on whether buyers will be interested in investing huge amounts on Sye Raa. Analysts say the makers should promote the film with intense vigor and generate huge buzz on the project learning from the commercial failures of 2.0 and Vinaya Vidheya Rama.
