Sandeep Reddy Vanga shot to fame with the bold film Arjun Reddy which turned out to be a cult classic in Tollywood. The film caught the imagination of all with Vijay Deverakonda's powerful performance and Sandeep's gripping narration and screenplay doing wonders.

The film is getting remade in Tamil and Hindi. While Chiyaan Vikram's son Dhruv is playing the lead in Kollywood with the film titled Varma, The Hindi version directed by Sandeep himself stars Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani.

The film was named as Kabir Singh and when the title was announced, it got a mixed response. While some fans asked Sandeep saying “Tamil remake teaser itself a flop...Don't disappoint us with Hindi too.. Max entertainment expected"

Another netizen however trolled Sandeep Reddy saying ' “#ArjunReddy was a horrible misogynistic film that glorified drug abuse. The actor looked pathetic. It reduced women to mere a sex object. I can't believe it became a blockbuster and a Hindi remake??? Pathetic" He went on to add " Irony at its best. A time when MeToo movement is unfolding the shallowness of Bollywood they are coming with Kabir Singh. A remake of a highly sexist movie. Arjun Reddy that is denigrating to all women plus it promotes drug abuse. What a shame."
