It was exactly 25 years ago, on 3 September, 1993, Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna's Nippuravva and Bangaru Bullodu were released on the same day. It was a wonder a big hero's two films hit the screens on the same day.
However, Nippuravva had been on sets for a long time and faced financial crisis. Moreover, no buyers showed interest on the film due to flop talk spread even before the film's release. At last, the makers were success in releasing the film. But then, they couldn't avoid the clash between Nippuravva and Bangaru Bullodu. Directed by A Kodandarami Reddy, the movie stood as a huge disaster at the box office. Yet, Balayya's fans ensured the film ran in one direct centre.
On the contrary, Bangaru Bullodu, which was made as a mass and family entertainer, became a decent hit at the box office. Ravina Tandon and Ramya Krishna played female leads while Ravi Raja Pinisetty directed the film.
Balayya's fans wanted the film crossed then industry hit Gharana Mogudu's 33 direct centres record. Since the collections dipped after four weeks of the film's release, the film was satisfied with 12 direct 100 days centres.
