The former Prime Minister of India Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away on Thursday, 16th of August, 2018 at AIIMS in New Delhi. He was 93.  Vajpayee was admitted at AIIMS on June 11 after he was intensely suffered from a kidney tract infection, urinary tract infection and low urine output and chest congestion.

Vajpayee was visited by the PM Narendra Modi, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and many other leaders from BJP and other political parties the other day.

Vajpayee was born on 25 December, 1924 at Gwaliar in British India. The legendary politician participated actively in Quit India movement in 1942 and was arrested for 23 days. He had been an RSS activist prior to his entry into active politics. 

Vajpayee first entered parliament in 1957 and was lauded for his impeccable oratory skills. He became the first PM of the BJP when assumed his duties in 1996. However, his tenure lost for 13 days then. Thereupon, he became the PM in 1998 for 13 months and became the third time PM in 1999 for five years. 

India achieved remarkable victory in Kargil war during the reign of Vajpayee. Also, Pokhran  nuclear test was done during Vajpayee's tenure. 

Vajpayee was honoured with Padma Vibhushan award in 1992 and India's highest civilian award Bharat Ratna in 1994 by the Government of India.

Vajpayee's demise is an irretrievable loss to the people of India. Cinejosh is immensely saddened with the demise of this giant personality of Indian politics. Our heartfelt condolences to his family members. May his soul rest in peace!
