Once upon a time buyers and exhibitors had strong belief on top producer and distributor Dil Raju's judgement. Especially, when Dil Raju acquired the distribution rights of any film, those films would score hits and super hits.
Dil Raju's judgement skills were appreciated by the people then. But then, no one would see those hits and super hits in co-incidence angle. Of late, Dil Raju is failing miserably through his judgement power. Films such as Agnyathavasi, Spyder, Mehbooba etc. were bombed at the box office. Strangely, he didn't even have a confidence on the success of game changing movies like Rangasthalam. Moreover, he is learnt to have done a huge blunder ignoring some very well made small budget films. As such, he couldn't take decision for acquiring rights of those sensational films for a couple of months and finally left those projects. Instead, he acquired the rights of scrap like Mehbooba.
It is heard that Dil Raju recently owned the Nizam rights of Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas' Saakshyam for Rs.7 crores. It's a shocking price for the film. In fact, Bellamkonda's films stood as cost failures before. Of course, Saakshyam might have been made well and may get a success. But then, Dil Raju's over confidence on the project turned a topic for criticism again on Dil Raju. Whatsoever, the buyers from other areas have understood Dil Raju's poor judgement skills in the recent past and may not approach blindly to the makers of Saakshyam with sky high prices as quoted by Dil Raju for Nizam area.
