The Filmfare Awards are given by the Filmfare magazine as part of its annual Filmfare Awards South for Telugu films. Filmfare Awards are considered to be more transparent than Nandi awards. Most of the films selected for nominations are the super hit films which are liked by the people due to the superb performances of the cast and the crew. Usually, the awards are given away to the artists and technicians, who show the best performances in their departments.
In contrast, many strange rules are observed by the committees of Nandi awards. Art movies made of shoestring budgets are given priority for the awards. Usually, India's poverty is shown in these kind of art films. Remake films, though they get blockbuster results at the box office, are not considered for awards. Many times, there were complaints on the committee members for being given away the awards to their friends and relatives. Also there were gossips that the awards committee sells some of the awards to the industry people. For an instance, there were gossips that a jealous person bought the best award in 2009 for a good deal of price. Of course, many people rubbished these kind of gossips. Yet again, comparing with the standards of Filmfare Awards, the state awards are yet to be grown a lot.
