Is Big Film means only Extravagant Story

Earlier film's budget used to decide whether the film is big or small. People used to be under the impression that star hero, extravagant sets, big budget and grand visuals are the requisites of a big film. Now the trend is changing. The film's brand value is deciding the film's stature.
Expectations are increasing with the increase in big budget films. People are expecting strong content in high budget films and it is not easy to bring people to theatres with grand sets, action sequences and budget. Star hero can bring record openings but hero's image is not enough for the film to survive.
Story, roles, director's taking music, visuals and all should give special feel to the viewers. So now, apart from hero, director's brand is also becoming important. If a director has a brand scoring hits with different genres, expectations are high on his next project. Change is also witnessed in the franchises. Filmmakers are now coming with sequels continuing the hit films and here the brand of the film may be more important than the hero himself.
If the people's interest is high on the story world, expectations increased on the next project and producers will get new business chances. However, big budget comes with huge risk. The more the investment, the returns for the film's hit will incrase and so the producers are calculating how much they should invest and whether their investment has the required market.
At the same time, many low budget films with strong stories are becoming big hits. So there is no guarantee that the big budget and big films will turn out tobe hits. People may forget the budget of the films if the films turn out to be hits. In future, more than budget, recognition an star value becomes inconcequential compared to the brand value.
