Manoj Bajpayee has weighed in on the controversy surrounding Ranbir Kapoor's "Animal," a film facing criticism for its portrayal of women and other elements. While some online voices have deemed the film "problematic" and called for boycotts, Bajpayee advocates for a more measured approach.

"If people disagree with or dislike a film, what's wrong with that?" Bajpayee stated in a recent interaction. "The film is released, does its business, and moves on. If you don't want to watch it, don't watch it. But don't create trouble for the film."

The acclaimed actor believes that encouraging boycotts sets a dangerous precedent. "What if others hinder your work in the same way?" he questioned. Instead, Bajpayee calls for open discussion and constructive criticism. "There should be open discourse without calls for bans or protests."

Previously, Bajpayee addressed the impact of "Animal's" hype on the release of his own film, "Joram." Acknowledging the financial disparity between the two projects, he stated, "We knew we couldn't compete with 'Animal' in terms of promotion and publicity. 'Joram' is a different kind of film, and we had to be realistic about our budget."

Despite facing a box office giant like "Animal," Bajpayee remained pragmatic. "We didn't want to over-burden our film with unrealistic expectations," he explained. "We were practical about the situation, and that alleviated some pressure to earn quick profits."
