Ram Pothineni : Explosive Actor With Charming Looks

Ram Pothineni who started as a boy-next-door image has slowly and steadily transformed his image to a lover boy and then as a mass hero. He is probably one of the very few heroes who can impress doing both Love Stories and Mass Commercial films. He is trying wide variety of genres. He can play subtlety like in 'Nenu Sailaja' and crazy mass character like 'iSmart Shankar'. He can play both hunter and hunted effortlessly. Ram is celebrating his birthday today (May 15).

Ram Pothineni came from a filmy background. He is the son of Murali Pothineni, brother of popular producer 'Sravanthi' Ravi Kishore. So, he got an easy pass into films. But, before that he acted in a Tamil short film Adayaalam in 2002. Then, at the age of 18, Ram made his debut as a Hero with Devadas directed by YVS Chowdary in 2006. Illeana is also made her debut with this film. Devadas became a huge blockbuster. 

Then he starred in Sukumar Directorial Jagadam which won critical acclaim. Then his second commercial success came from Ready directed by Srinu Vaitla. After a brief lull period, Ram scored a superhit again with Kandireega with his hyper active performance. After some average films at the boxoffice, He scored a superhit with Nenu Sailaja co-starring Keerthy Suresh which marks her debut in Telugu.

Ram's first time collaboration with Puri Jagannadh turned into a Blockbuster iSmart Shankar. His next film Red which was a remake of Tamil film has won him accolades for his terrific performance in dual role. After a couple of disappointments, Warriorr and Skanda, he has joined hands again with his superhit director Puri Jagannadh for Double Ismart,.sequel to his superhit iSmart Shankar.
