The State Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister K Rosaiah here on Saturday at the Secretariat, the Government would set up three Lok Adalats at in the state

Briefing newsmen, Information and Public Relations Minister J Geetha Reddy stated that the Cabinet has decided to set up mobile Lok Adalats at Rangareddy, Kadapa and Visakhapatnam districts to settle disputes in a speedy manner.

The Cabinet has decided to seek Rs 1,357 crore assistance from Centre to take up rescue and relief operations in cyclone ‘Laila’ affected districts. Reddy said the state suffered damage to the tune of Rs 1,603 crore in the cyclone hit districts—Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur, East Godavari, West Godavari and Visakhapatnam.

The government has decided to release Rs 396 crore to take up relief operations in the cyclone hit districts on an emergency basis.

The government also decided to recruit 2,151 teachers’ posts in residential schools across the state through Special District Selection Committee.

The Cabinet decided to pay up the arrears to the contractors of Indiramma houses and hand over the houses to the beneficiaries.

The government has decided to upgrade the government hospital at Huzurabad in Nalgonda district by increasing the beds from 65 to 100.

The Cabinet would allot 150 acres land to build houses for the secretariat staff, she said adding the cabinet sub-committee will meet on Sunday again to discuss the hike in tuitions fee in engineering colleges, which is pending for many days.
