A fortnight-long door-to-door survey would begin from April 15 to detect errors in the electoral rolls and make necessary corrections as part of the revision of electoral rolls in the state.

According to State Chief Electoral Officer Iv Subba Rao, the Election Commission of India has announced revision of electoral rolls with January one, 2010 as qualifying date for inclusion in the rolls.

Dr Subba Rao was talking to media persons after an all-party meeting over the revision of electoral rolls.

He said that the electoral database would be edited by officers concerned between May 1 and May 15 and the compterised database and draft electoral rolls would be published on May 28.

After inquiry on claims and objections filed in between, final electoral rolls would be published on July 2 in 12 Assembly Constituencies in which vacancies had arisen due to resignation by elected members and on July 17 in the remaining constituencies.
