Trouble mongers identified: Khan

The perpetrators of trouble in the Old City have been identified, stated Hyderabad City Police Commissioner A K Khan.

Talking to reporters after heading a review with his officials on Thursday afternoon over the situation in the Old City, Khan said the police have identified the perpetrators of violence and steps are being taken to  arrest the guilty.

The police would also monitor the activities of such persons, who are involved in earlier clashes in the city, he stated.

Regarding relaxation of the curfew for Friday, the commissioner said a decision would be taken after confabulation with the Home Minister and other officials. If the situation improves, the government may relax or lift curfew partially in parts of the Old City, he pointed out.

Additional forces would be deployed near places of worship to prevent untoward incidents on Friday, he stated.

He said no untoward incident was reported during curfew relaxation in a few areas on Thursday. However,  curfew may be continued for a few more days till the peace is restored, he added.
