Voting for 175 Assembly seats and 25 Parliamentary seats in Andhra Pradesh is being held simultaneously in a single-phase election today. It is effectively a three-cornered clash in the State- the ruling Telugu Desam Party led by N Chandra Babu Naidu, YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s YSR Congress, and actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena. There are also the national parties the BJP and Congress contesting sans any alliance with the regional parties.
Clashes between TDP and YSRCP party workers are being reported from various places of Andhra Pradesh. As per reports, leaders of various parties are distributing cash to public to vote for their party. In a video going viral on social media, TDP councilor Shivashankar Yadav is seen distributing money at Nandamurinagar polling station in Kurnool. Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy is the TDP’s MLA candidate from the segment.
Two polling agents were taken into custody for allegedly offering voters money at Vemavaram village in Prakasam district's Ballikuruva mandal, as per reports.
