Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has announced that Entertainment Tax (ET) is exempted for the film Gautamiputra Sathakarni.

Actor Balakrishna met the Chief Minister at Pragathi Bhavan on Friday and requested that his film Gautamiputra Sathakarni be exempted from the ET, as it happened to be a historical film. Responding to Balskrishna’s request, the Chief Minister has instructed the officials concerned to issue the Orders.

The Chief Minister said that the Telangana State government has decided to support and encourage films based on the noted historical personalities. In this context, he recalled the ET exemption was given to an earlier historical film Rudrama Devi. In future too, this policy will continue, the CM said.

Thanking the Chief Minister for his generous gesture, Balakrishna said that the entire shooting of the film was completed in a record number of 78 days. Besides shooting at Kotilingala in Telangana State, the film has shot at several historically important locations in the Country. Balakrishna also invited the Chief Minister to watch the first show of the film, which is to be released on January 12. Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Producer of the film Rajeev Reddy and Srinivas, presenter of the film were also present.
