Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah has accused the TRS Government of harassing the Congress workers in Telangana State.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Ponnala said that the TRS Government has been harassing the Congress workers and leaders across the State. He alleged that select Congress leaders and workers were being harassed by using official machinery. He said that the TRS Government was even cancelling the house allotments done during the Congress regime. Earlier, Ponnala conducted the review of party's performance in recent elections in Nizamabad district. Speaking about the same, he said that the Congress lost the elections as voter got attracted to the TRS promises like farm loan waiver, three acres of land for BCs, two-bedroom apartment, 12 per cent reservation for minorities among others. He said that anti-incumbancy factor too worked against the Congress party.

Ponnala also dismissed the reports of his removal from the TPCC post although he admitted that some leaders were conspiring against him. He said that the Congress High Command was aware of such moves.
