Khammam,Nov 7:The capitalists and terrorists are a great threat to the democracy in the country, said Communist Party of India national general secretary A P Bardhan.Inaugurating the party district office here on Saturday, he said,of the 505 members in the Lok Sabha,over 350 are crorepathis.They won the parliamentary elections by using their money and muscle power throwing all democratic norms to the winds.On the flipside, the terrorists are tormenting the peace in society by violent means and threatening the very fabric of democracy,he fumed.Though the United Progressive Alliance Government claimed to have achieved 9 per cent growth rate, more than 75 per cent of the people are getting only Rs 20 as their daily wage per day, he said.

He said more than 1,50,000 people have committed suicide in the country since its Independence due to various economic reasons. Most of the children in the country were dying due to lack of nutritious food, he pointed out.He reiterated that the party would launch agitations until justice and equality is achieved in the society and people got all their civic rights.CPI national deputy secretary S Sudhakhar Reddy,P Narayana and P Nageswara Rao were present at the meeting.
