Police serve notices to Akbaruddin Owaisi for hate speeches

Following registration of separate cases for making provocative speeches, the police of Nizamabad and Nirmal on Friday served notices on MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi.

However, since Akbaruddin Owaisi is presently in London for medical treatment, the notices were pasted at his Banjara Hills residence directing him to attend the police stations of Nirmal and Nizamabad on January 7 and 8 respectively.

Meanwhile, the State Police has intensified efforts to arrest the MIM leaders as soon as he returns to Hyderabad. According to sources, a senior official has enquired with Owaisi's family members about the tentative date of his return.

On the other hand, a delegation of BJP leaders led by State Unit president G Kishan Reddy called on Governor ESL Narasimhan seeking his intervention in taking action against the MIM MLA. They also submitted a set of CDs containing the alleged provocative speeches delivered by Akbaruddin Owaisi in Anantapur, Nizambad and Nirmal last month.
