The decision on Telangana issue will be taken in a month. This was announced by Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Reddy after chairing the All-Party meeting on the issue here on Friday.

"The meeting was very cordial. Everyone has expressed their views and we have noted them down. Since the representatives expressed that the decision should be taken as early as possible, the government will take the decision in one month," Shinde told reporters.

Shinde said he heard all the views of all political parties carefully and he would brief the government on the issue. Refusing to disclose the details of the views expressed by the parties which took part in the meeting, he said the Centre's decision would be based on their opinions. However, he said several factors including the report of Srikrishna Commission would be taken into consideration while taking a decision.

The Home Minister said that he was fully satisfied with the meeting. He appealed to the youth of Andhra Pradesh to maintain peace and observe restrain. When asked by the reporters, Shinde admitted of saying that this would be last meeting on the Telangana statehood issue. Without giving any indications on the possible outcome, he said when some decisions are taken, some will be satisfied and other will be unhappy. He hoped that the issue would have a happy ending.

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and representatives of two representatives each of all eight political parties in the State took part in the meeting.
