Former MP and Trs polit-bureau member B Vinod Kumar said that the decision on whether or not to support the proposed statehood agitation by the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee would be taken in the party's next polit-bureau meeting soon.

Talking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan, Vinod Kumar said that the aim of the Trs and T-JAC were the same. However, he said that the mode of agitation by both the groups might be different. Therefore, he said that the Trs might differ with the T-JAC on some modes of agitation, but the aim of both the Trs and T-JAC was the formation of Telangana State.

Vinod Kumar claimed that it was not Trs but the ruling party, Congress, which has been saying that Telangana Bill might be introduced during the monsoon session of the Parliament. Presently, he said, no party or group could say that Telangana State was not possible. Separate state will definitely be a reality soon, he said.

Reacting to the TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu's statement that he would send a letter to the Center on the Telangana State issue, Vinod Kumar demanded that the TDP clarify first whether he was writing a letter to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh by favouring separate Telangana or against it. He said that the TDP announce its stand in support of Telangana state before September 9, 2009, and soon after Home Minister P Chidambaram’s statement on the same day, TDP change his mind. Now, he said, it is not possible to believe the party.
