TDP, a sinking boat, says YSRCP

Asserting that Tdp is a sinking boat and leaders are deserting it as the future appears to be bleak, YSRC on Monday cautioned N Chandrababu Naidu not to blame others for his inefficiency to keep the flock together.

“When the voting percentage of Tdp fell from 48 to 22 per cent, people are bound to move to greener pastures. Chandrababu Naidu trying pick up irrational reasons for the exodus and passing the buck to Congress and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is a sense of accepting defeat,” party spokesperson Jupudi Prabhakar Rao told reporters here.

Unable to keep his house in order, Chandrababu Naidu has been blaming Congress leaders to control YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for Tdp’s poor performance and there are very few takers for this argument, he said.

“The popularity of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is growing which is the reason why YSRCP has registered a resounding win in the recent by-polls and leaders from other parties are joining despite the leader being in jail. On the contrary, Tdp did not win a single seat in the 41 by-polls to assembly and two Lok Sabha seats held after the death of YSR,” he said.

This shows the comparative popularity of YSRCP and Tdp and voters have been venting their ire at every election which is the indicator of the policies and programmes of any political party.

Instead of introspection, Chanrababu Naidu has been harping on the failure of Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Vayalar Ravi to check YS Jagan Mohan Reddy which speaks of his political bankruptcy and the Party will find no takers in the days to come, Jupudi said.

Rejecting Tdp’s contention that sympathy has worked in favour of YSRC, Jupudi said, “in that case Tdp should have won 2004 elections hands down after the bid on his life but that was not the case. People have lost faith in Chandrababu Naidu and his policies and they can never believe him and his leadership qualities always remained questionable.”

Barring in 1999, when Tdp won on sheer arithmetic calculations, Chandrababu Naidu has never led the party to victory and is unable to convince party leaders and cadre, he said.

Terming Gudivada MLA Alla Nani joining YSRCP as a welcome sign, Jupudi said people are deserting Tdp as they lost faith in leadership and the existence of the party itself is at stake.  Unable to digest the exodus, Tdp has been heaping unconvincing theories and false allegations against political opponents which is not good sign of political acumen, he said.
