Congress party chief whip Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy on Monday accused Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu of cheating the Backward Class communities by announcing that his party would reserve 100 seats for them in the ensuing general elections.

Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party office, he suspected the commitment of Naidu over reserving 100 seats for BCs in the ensuing general elections. If he was really committed, he asked Naidu to quit from either the party president or Opposition Leader's post and nominate a BC candidate for the same.

Alleging that Naidu has been making non-practical promises to cheat the Backward Classes, he said that the people of the State would not believe him and teach a fitting lesson to him at an appropriate time. Responding to a question, he said that the Congress party would appoint a BC leader for the Chief Minister’s post at an appropriate time.

Venkata Ramana Reddy also dismissed reports that appeared in a section of media that the government was not implementing Arogyasri health scheme properly. He accused media of glorifying small mistakes in Arogyasri to get mileage and damage the image of the Congress party and the government.
