Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday made it clear that there would no change in the leadership of the State after the outcome of by-election results.

Addressing a gathering at Prajapatham programme in Rayachoti in Kadapa district, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that there was no threat to his government and he would continue on the Chief Minister’s post till 2014. He said that the notification for conducting the elections to local bodies and cooperative bodies would be issued soon.

When the reporters brought to notice of high drama prevailed in Vizianagaram district over the liquor syndicate issue, he said that the police in the district would look into it. “The police have been given full powers to deal with the situation. They will take all measures to maintain law and order in the district,” he said.

The Chief Minister also announced that interest-free crop loans scheme would be extended to farmers from the ensuing Rabi season. Under the scheme, he said that each farmer would be given Rs one lakh loan and the government would bear the interest on it. Reiterating that his government was committed to the welfare of farmers, he said that top priority has been given to farmers’ welfare schemes.

Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the government was considering to supply drinking water to Galivedu and Lakkireddypalle mandals from Veligallu project. He also assured the farmers in two mandals of Rayachoti that the government was considering to provide irrigation water from Jarikona project.  

Earlier, the Chief Minister laid foundation stone to a slew of development programmes costing about Rs 83 crores in Kadapa district.
