All India Congress Committee Secretary K B Krishna Murthy on Saturday dismissed reports that appeared in a section of media that in-charge of party affairs in the State Ghulam Nabi Azad would be replaced with Union Minister for Overseas Affairs Vayalar Ravi.

Talking to media persons at Lakeview Guest House, Krishna Murthy said that the high command would continue Ghulam Nabi Azad on the post and there was no truth in the media report. He said that the high command has sent Vayalar Ravi as Congress emissary to study the latest political situation in the State as Azad was pre-occupied with various other issues. He said that the High Command has asked Vayalar Ravi to submit a report on gearing up the party in the State to face the ensuing by-elections.

Stating that the party was strong in the State, he said that both Pradesh Congress Committee chief Botsa Satyanarayana and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would take steps for reorganising the party at ground level. He said both the leaders would soon fill all the vacant nominated posts in the government and party.

Krishna Murthy also dismissed reports about the possible change of the Chief Minister and the PCC president by the high command before the by-elections in the State. He also warned of serious disciplinary action against those demanding their removal.

Responding to controversy over using the photograph of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in the by-elections, Krishnamurthy said that party’s campaign committee would take a decision on it.

Regarding Telangana issue, he said that the High Command was studying the matter seriously and would announce a decision on it soon
