Former member of Rajya Sabha K Kesava Rao on Friday said that no one could obstruct the Telangana leaders' visit to New Delhi for the Telangana statehood demand.

Talking to media persons at Pachayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy's residence, Kesava Rao said that the Telangana leaders were not so weak that they could be threatened by other leaders over their visit to the national capital. “We are ready to go to New Delhi anytime to discuss with the High Command over the Telangana issue and no one can threaten us over our visit,” he said.

“We have already made it clear to the high command that except for Telangana we won't agree for anything else. The Telangana leaders are neither ready to accept any financial packages nor councils for the development of backward regions. We don’t even want any posts,” he said.

Senior leader and MLC K R Amos said the Telangana Ministers and leaders have decided to go to New Delhi despite Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's appeal to them to participate in the Prajapatham programme in the State. He said that the leaders from Telangana would sit together on April 24 to discuss New Delhi's visit and plan a future strategy to achieve statehood for the Telangana region.

Amos said that Ministers and leaders did not turn up for the meetings at Jana Reddy residence due to their busy occupation with their engagements.
