The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Sunday asked the Congress MLAs from the Telangana region to take advantage of No Confidence Motion to pressurise the Congress High Command for a favourable decision on the statehood issue.

Talking to reporters at the Assembly's Media Point, TRS MLA T Harish Rao said all political groups were trying to bargain with the Congress Government over the No Confidence Motion. While the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen forced the ruling party to vacat the Mayor's seat in its favour, the ertswhile Praja Rajyam Party MLAs have bargained for posts and other sops. However, he said the Telangana Congress MLAs have failed to capatalise the situation.

Harish Rao advised the Telangana Congress MLAs to ask Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to get an assurance from the High Command on the Telangana issue. He also asked the general public to pressurise the Congress MLAs by sending SMSs, e-mails or telegrams to get an assurance from the Centre on Telangana.

Meanwhile, TRS floor leader Etela Rajender informed that the party has issued a whip to its 12 MLAs asking them to vote in favour of No Confidence Motion. He said that the state government did not honour the assurances of payment of salaries and withdrawal of cases to the employees who took part in the Sakala Janula Samme.

Further, Etela alleged that the government registered cases under serious offences including Preventive Detention Act and National Security Act against the statehood activists. Therefore, he said that all MLAs from the Telangana region, across party lines, should ensure that the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government falls.
