The Telangana Rashtra Samithi warned the state government of serious consequences if it tries to foil the three-day Rail Roko agitation being organised under aegis of Telangana Political Joint Action Committee from October 9.

Talking to media persons here on Friday, Harish Rao said that the government would be responsible for any eventuality if it runs the trains during the strike period under police security. Responding to South Central Railway’s decision to run trains with three-tier security being provided by the government, he said that the T-JAC would adopt a six tier formula to disrupt train services on those days.

Harish Rao called upon Telangana activists and students to participate actively in the Rail Roko agitation and make it a grand success. He said that the Rail Roko was aimed at mounting pressure on the Centre to get a favourable decision on Telangana state. “Unlike earlier agitations, a large number of women are expected to participate in the Rail Roko agitation this time”, he stated.

The Trs MLA said that bullock carts and other vehicles would be parked on railway tracks as part of Rail Roko agitation. If the government resorts to illegal arrests, the Telangana leaders would launch `Jail Bharo’ agitation, he threatened.
