DL's claim of Jagan's hand in Paritala Ravi's murder absurd: Gone

Former State Road Transport Corporation chairman Gone Prakash Rao on Wednesday lashed out at the Congress party’s candidate for the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency DL Ravindra Reddy’s claims former Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy had paid Rs 5 lakh to get former Telugu Desam Party MLA Paritala Ravi killed.

“How can Dr Ravindra Reddy make these absurd claims when even the Central Bureau of Investigations had given a clean chit to Mr Jaganmohan Reddy,” asked Mr Prakash Rao before media persons at the Assembly Media Point on Wednesday.

The former RTC chairman further alleged that Dr Ravindra Reddy’s claims were contrary to reality and this was evident by the CBI’s clean chit.

Describing Dr Ravindra Reddy’s allegation against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy as ‘unfortunate’, Mr Prakash Rao further said that a responsible person serving as a Minister must not have made such absurd allegations, especially after the country’s highest investigative agency had cleared Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s name.

The former RTC chairman further rubbished the claims made by Congress leaders that the by-election is a matter of life and death for Mr Jaganmohan Reddy.

“The by-election is life and death for Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy who was hand-picked by the Congress High Command to tackle the former MP and this is not the same case with Mr Jaganmohan Reddy,” he stated.

Mr Prakash Rao further said the Congress High Command would be forced to change the Chief Minister since the party candidates are sure to lose in the by-polls.

He went on to predict that several political changes would take place in June and July including Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy submitting his resignation. “By 2014, the Congress High Command will name its fifth Chief Minister in Andhra Pradesh,” Mr Prakash Rao stated.

Stating that despite the fact that as many as nine Ministers were campaigning and misusing their official position in the by-elections, the YSR Congress Party will come out victorious.
