As many as 33 Congress Legislators left for the National Capital on Monday, hoping that the sizable numbers would infuse the party High Command to take an early decision on the long-pending demand of a separate Telangana state.

The 33 Legislators, comprising of 27 MLAs and six MLCs, have already announced that they would meet the Congress Core Committee members and hopefully get an appointment with the party president Sonia Gandhi so that they could brief her over the growing restlessness among the people and the politicians over the issue. The Legislators hope that their numbers would galvanise the High Command into giving serious thought and the party’s top echelons take a decision on the contentious issue.
