Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday stated there was no rift or political crisis in the party.

Talking to media persons while touring the Krishna district as part of `Rythu Kosam’ to create awareness on Krishna water Disputes Tribunal verdict, the TDP president said that his party leaders would not be trapped easily by unscrupulous opponents and no one can lure them.

“The TDP leaders have always been willing to spend money from their pockets for the sake of the party and they will not fall to the attempts by some leaders to lure them away through money power. The luring away of MLAs with money is against the spirit of democratic principles,” Mr Naidu said.

Alleging that the Centre and State governments were responsible for the rising prices of essential commodities, the former chief minister demanded resignation of Congress leaders from their posts if they failed to control prices.

Expressing serious concern over the fate of pathetic farmers, Mr Naidu said the TDP would fight for their cause until they get justice.

The TDP chief asked the farmers not to resort to the extreme step of ending their lives due to financial problems and called upon them to fight for their genuine rights with courage.

Stating that farmers in the Krishna Delta have suffered a ‘grave injustice’ due to the adverse verdict delivered by the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal, Mr Naidu said the problem was cropped up due to former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy who did not depute efficient advocates before the Tribunal to present the state’s arguments.
