Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister Sri @PawanKalyan Undergoes Successful Shoulder Surgery

The Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sri Pawan Kalyan, successfully underwent shoulder surgery at a hospital in Mumbai on Saturday.

The procedure was performed by a team of doctors led by world-renowned orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala. Sri Pawan Kalyan had been diagnosed with severe rotator cuff injuries in both shoulders. In addition to the rotator cuff tear, an avulsion fracture in his right shoulder necessitated a major surgical procedure. The surgery, performed on his right shoulder, lasted approximately three and a half hours and was completed successfully.

Following the operation, he was shifted to the recovery room. He is recovering well from the effects of anaesthesia and remains under the close observation of the treating medical team.

Medical experts had advised that surgery be undertaken at the earliest. However, considering his pre-scheduled official commitments, Sri Pawan Kalyan chose to complete them before undergoing the procedure. Since operating on both shoulders simultaneously would have resulted in significant post-operative discomfort and limited mobility, the medical team decided to perform the surgery on the right shoulder first. The surgery on the left shoulder is planned after an appropriate recovery period.

The shoulder injuries trace back to 2016 and gradually worsened over the years due to his relentless public engagements, extensive political tours, election campaigns, and continuous interaction with party workers and well-wishers. Despite enduring persistent pain, Hon'ble Deputy CM continued to discharge his official responsibilities and participate in public programmes without interruption.

Further updates regarding his recovery will be shared in due course.
