Hyderabad, Sept 7 :

 A public interest litigation was filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday seeking probe into the crash of chopper that killed chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and four others in Kurnool district on last Wednesday.

Filing a petition in the court, High Court lawyer Chandrasekhar said that as suspicions are rising over the crash of chopper, he urged the court to direct the government to find out the cause that led to the crash of the chopper.

He urged the chief justice to direct the government to set up a special investigation team to probe into the chopper crash. He also urged the court to set up an experts committee team to probe the chopper had a weather radar and was technically capable of flying even in ‘blind conditions.’The petition will come for hearing within a two days.

The government has already constituted a committee headed by the chief of Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd, R K Tyagi. The committee will complete its probe within two months.

Meanwhile, India's aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Thursday began a probe into the chopper crash.

The chief minister had taken off from Hyderabad airport to Chittoor in inclement weather on Wednesday morning. The chopper crashed while crossing the dense Nallamalla jungle. The crash site and the bodies were located Thursday morning.
