Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday condemned the murder of his party leader Chalasani Venkateshwara Rao, alias Pandu.
Mr Naidu told media persons that he would not be making a detailed comment on the murder since the details were not clear. He added that any problems among the disputing parties should have been solved through negotiations. Mr Naidu stated that taking the law into own hands is incorrect.
According to sources, the TDP chief will attend the funeral at Ventrapragada, Pedaparu Pudi mandal in Krishna district.
Meanwhile TDP leaders have given a call for bandh in Krishna district. Following the bandh call, business establishments and educational institutes were closed. There is no report of any untoward incident so far.
Some of TDP activists also staged ‘Rasta Roko’ leading to traffic jams.
Vijayawada Police Commissioner Ramanjaneyulu said that policemen in large numbers have been deployed to prevent any untoward incident.
