Hyderabad, Sept 3 :

 Finance Minister K Rosaiah has been sworn-in as acting Chief Minister of the State following the sudden demise of the Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on Thursday. The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) is likely to meet in a couple of days to elect the new leader to succeed Dr Reddy. However, support is being extended by the major part of Congress MLAs and 33 MPs from the state to Mr Jaganmohan Reddy, the son of departed soul.

Several youth Congress leaders and supporters of Jagan gathered at the Chief Minister’s camp office in Hyderabad on Thursday and raised slogans in support of Jagan to succeed Dr Reddy. Many party MLAs and MPs has signed a letter to party high command in New Delhi supporting the candidature of the Jangan as the CLP Leader. However, there is likelihood of the other leaders also throwing their hat into the ring for the coveted post.
