Kantara OTT version : the impact of Varaha Roopam is missing

Kantara was a historic hit at the box-office with its arresting plotline and divine touch mixed with emotions. Fans of the film and movie lovers had been waiting for its OTT release to experience the emotional ride once again. The film is finally streaming in Amazon Prime from last night in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages. Varaha Roopam song in Kantara is an excellent composition and enhanced the movie to next level especially during the climax. It is considered as the soul of Kantara.

But, the OTT version of Kantara has another version of Varaha Roopam playing at the end of the film. It is completely different from the original version that played in the theatres. Many are complaining that Kantara is not Kantara without the original version of Varaha Roopam. Audiences are disappointed and feels the film lacks the soul. The reason behind this is the copyright dispute between the makers and Malayalam band Thaikkudam Bridge over the similarities between Varaha Roopam and the band's composition Navarasam.

Kerala court has been put an injunction order to stop Varaha Roopam playing on streaming platforms. Many thought that Hombale Films will get into the agreement with Thaikkudam Bridge before it's OTT release. But, it seems it didn't happened and as a result another version of Varaha Roopam is added.
