ANR Award presented to Latha

Hyderabad, Feb 1:  Renowned playback singer and Bharat Ratna awardee Latha Mangeshkar was presented the Akkineni Lifetime Achievement award at Hotel taj Krishna here on Monday.Chief Minister K Rosaiah  who was the chief guest at the awards presentation ceremony  gave away the Award to Latha Mangeshkar .Veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao who felicitated Latha Mangeshkar on behalf of the ANR International Foundation said he was honoured to be part of the award presentation to the Nightingale of Indian cinema.

Responding to the felicitation, Latha Mangeshkar said she is a great fan of Telugu language and had sung many Telugu films.’’Among the celebrities who were present on the occasion included Union Heavy Industries Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and former MP T Subbirami Reddy. Vilasrao presented a cheque of Rs 5 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund at the function.
