Despite being an outsider, she began her filmy journey at 19 and did not have probs in gaining a foothold in Telugu filmdom.Kamna Jethmalani loves Kareena’s role in Jab We Met and Genelia’s meaty role in Bommarillu. She loves reading, going to the spa. Once she is glued to the TV, none can pull her off the couch.

“By Grace, I haven’t taken a single screen test for my roles. I was excited about the work, as it gave me independence. l no longer had to depend on my parents while all my friends were busy studying,” explains Kamna.She did not have big patrons, yet the ambitious actress was choosy about her roles and went by her instincts. “When I am in Hyderabad I feel at home and never miss Mumbai,” asserts the actress.

In Tamil films, actresses get more roles, but Telugu movies have the most glamorous actresses, thinks Kamna who is a great fan of Sridevi, Jaya Prada and Vijayshanti. The focus in those days was acting. But these days, the emphasis is on glamour and good bodies.Kamna looks forward to more women-centric roles. She does not rule out accepting Bollywood offers.
