Comeback Glimpse Introduces Kartikeya As A Boxer
Kartikeya Gummakonda is returning to Telugu cinema with Comeback, a new film that marks his directorial debut. Announced on his birthday, September 21, the project sees him take charge behind the camera while also playing the lead. The film is being produced under his Kartikeya Creative Works banner, with Lohitha Reddy backing the project.
Kartikeya rose to prominence with RX 100 and later explored varied roles in Gang Leader and Tamil blockbuster Valimai. His last released film was Bhaje Vaayu Vegam in 2024, after which his absence prompted curiosity among fans. Comeback now marks his return after a gap while adding an entirely new responsibility to his career.
The Comeback glimpse opens with a voice over questioning what happened to a boxer who has been away from the sport for three years. It then introduces Kartikeya through intense skipping and boxing visuals, showcasing his physical preparation. Vijay Bulganin’s background score adds energy before the title Comeback appears, confirming the film’s boxing backdrop.
Kartikeya’s fitness driven transformation and the glimpse’s sports oriented presentation have created curiosity around his directorial debut. The technical team includes cinematographer Jagadeesh Cheekati, editor Kalyan Suryaprakash and music director Vijay Bulganin, while Saraswathi Shukla serves as presenter. With Kartikeya also writing and directing, the project represents a new creative phase for the actor.
