Amitabh Bachchan Clears Retirement Rumours
Amitabh Bachchan has firmly dismissed retirement rumours triggered by his recent blog. The veteran actor clarified that his phrase “time to retire” was taken out of context and simply meant retiring for the night. He said he was referring to going to bed, not stepping away from acting or television.
Bachchan also shared a newspaper clipping carrying reports about his alleged retirement and responded with his trademark humour. He explained that “retire” in this context meant going to sleep, adding that he has no intention of retiring from professional work anytime soon.
The speculation gained momentum after Bachchan discussed how emotionally difficult some contestant stories have been while hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati 18. However, those comments were separate from his clarification about the “time to retire” phrase, and he remains the host of the ongoing season.
On the film front, Bachchan appeared in Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan in 2024 and is set to reprise Ashwatthama in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2. He will share the screen again with Prabhas and Kamal Haasan, while the sequel continues to progress toward production.
