Coastal Sports Drama Mandaadi Post-Production Begins

RS Infotainment has officially wrapped up the shoot of Mandaadi, and the team is now racing through post-production. Led by producer Elred Kumar, this sports action drama was filmed over a long, tough schedule, with most of the shoot happening along the coastal belt of Ramanathapuram. The crew battled harsh weather and rough sea conditions to keep things real. From raw, high-octane action blocks to emotional family moments and stunning sailboat race sequences on the ocean, everything was shot with a lot of detailing and effort.
Directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, Mandaadi is set against a unique sports backdrop rooted in fishing communities. The title itself refers to a skilled leader who guides fishing trips by reading the sea, winds, and waves. That idea of leadership and survival is the core of the story. Soori plays the lead and has undergone serious physical transformation for the role. The film also marks Suhas’ Tamil debut, and he’s taken a complete makeover for a negative-shaded role. He reportedly gave nearly 100 days to the project, showing real commitment. Mahima Nambiar is the female lead, while veterans like Sathyaraj, Ravindra Vijay, Mithun, and Bala Saravanan round out a strong supporting cast.
The technical team is equally solid. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the music, and fans are already hyped after his recent run of hits. SR Kathir is handling cinematography, expect beautiful coastal frames, while Pradeep E Ragav is on editing. The action is being choreographed by heavyweights Peter Hein, Dilip Subbarayan, and Mahesh Mathew, so the fight and race sequences should be top-notch. DRK Kiran’s production design has been praised in leaked set stills circulating on Instagram. Right now, the team is deep into editing, sound design, VFX, and music mixing to ensure the film feels polished and gripping.
After the intriguing first look dropped, Mandaadi has built serious curiosity. The mix of sports, coastal culture, and raw action is fresh for Tamil cinema, and with Vetri Maaran as creative producer, expectations are high.
