Thalapathy Vijay may not retire from films after Jana Nayagan. Despite announcing it as his final movie, the actor-turned-politician is reportedly planning to continue acting. This update brings relief to fans who urged Vijay to return to cinema. Since launching his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in February 2024, Vijay has faced major challenges. With Tamil Nadu assembly elections set for April 23, 2026, the actor-politician is balancing political opposition and personal controversies while public debate grows around his dual career.

TVK is contesting all 234 seats independently, with Vijay running from Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East. The party has positioned itself against both BJP as an ideological opponent and DMK as a political adversary. Meanwhile, Jana Nayagan’s journey has hit roadblocks. The KVN Productions film, earlier planned for Pongal 2026, is indefinitely delayed due to CBFC censorship issues. The film was also leaked online in full HD, leading to major financial losses for the producers. KVN Productions has issued legal warnings against piracy, and Vijay continues to support the production house during this crisis.

Thalapathy Vijay is said to be committed to doing another film under the KVN Productions banner after the elections. The move is seen as a gesture of support following the Jana Nayagan setback. Whether Vijay will stop with this project or sign more Vijay movies later is still uncertain. Industry observers say the April 23 election results will play a key role in deciding his cinema future.

If TVK performs well, Vijay may prioritize politics. But a lukewarm electoral debut could see him balance both careers, a scenario his massive fan base would welcome. For now, Vijay movies may continue after Jana Nayagan, depending on the political outcome and his commitment to KVN Productions.
