Shah Rukh Khan Next Is A Romantic Drama

Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly considering a return to the romance genre with a big-budget, old-school, mature romantic drama. The actor is currently wrapping up Siddharth Anand's King, which is set to release in December 2026. According to Pinkvilla, the new film will offer an age-appropriate narrative with emotional depth and drama, distinct from his earlier roles.

This shift from action to romance is reportedly influenced by the physical demands of his recent films. Khan had surgery for an arm injury during King's filming, and the romantic drama is expected to be less taxing on his body. The film will allow him to return to his roots in a more mature narrative.

Khan is also considering a reunion with director Farah Khan for Main Hoon Na 2, a Hindi entertainer where he'll play a double role. However, this project is still in the writing stage. He's meeting people for his next projects and will decide by June 2026.

The romantic drama will likely start filming after King's release in January or February 2027. A top-tier director is being considered, but their identity remains confidential. King, an action-thriller, features Khan as an experienced assassin with silver hair, alongside Suhana Khan and Deepika Padukone.
