Rumors are circulating that Salman Khan's highly anticipated film, Battle of Galwan, might be postponed from its scheduled April 17, 2026, release date. The film's shooting is not yet complete, with reshoots and patchwork still underway, and the crowded release window in March-April-May 2026 is adding to the speculation.

Several media personalities have hinted that the film might be pushed to the Independence Day weekend, August 14, 2026, to capitalize on the patriotic sentiment. The film's makers are reportedly considering this date, as it aligns with the film's theme and would provide a better opportunity for a strong box office performance.

According to media reports, Battle of Galwan's shooting is still ongoing, with a new schedule set to begin on February 9 for additional patchwork and reshoots, aiming to wrap up by February-end. However, post-production work and approvals, including clearance from the Ministry of Defence due to the film's sensitive subject, are still pending, making an April 17 release potentially unrealistic.

The film, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops, and it pays tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers. Salman Khan plays Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, while Chitrangada Singh has a key role in the film.
