Gandhi Talks story revolves around an unemployed person and what happens when he comes across a person whose business is on the verge of collapse. Mahadev Vishnu (Vijay Sethupath), who is unemployed, lives with his ill mother in the Dharavi, Mumbai struggling to make his both ends meet.

Under these circumstances, he comes across Boseman (Arvind Swami) whose real estate empire lands in legal turmoil. Where this leads to and what roles his lover Gayatri (Aditi Rao Hydari) and Siddharth (Mahesh Manjrekar) plays form the rest of the developments.

Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami, Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth Jadhav should be commended for believing in the silent story and becoming part of it.

The trio of Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami, Aditi Rao Hydari came up with impactful and captivating performances and took viewers into the story. Vijay Sethupathi showed good expressions and emotions and showed variations according to the situation. Arvind Swami made an impression as a successful businessman who is broke. Aditi Rao Hydari did full justice to her role.

Siddharth Jadhav, as a thief, evokesa  few laughs, especially in the second half. Zarina Wahab and Mahesh Manjrekar did justice to their roles.

Gandhi Talks is directed by Kishore Pandurang Belekar. He should be commended by coming up with the experimental film in today's world, drawing inspiration from classics like Kamal Haasan's Pushpaka Vimanam in 1987. He ensured that the film doesnot become a docu drama without dialogues and included scenes to connect chords with common people.

He didnot try to overdo loading it with extreme emotions but included scenes to generate humour. As he spent some time, introducing characters in the first half, the second half entertains more with good hilarious scenes. However, for all the positives, the story doesn't offer anything new.

The story resembles many previous hits and the only difference is that this turns out tobe a silent film. Unlike Pushpaka Vimanam,, the makers this time conveyed message to the viewers though technology showing WhatsApp conversation, texts and notes about important developments. There are many scenes in the first half that turned out to be slow and tested the patience of the viewers. To the top of it, the lengthy climax disappoints all as it donot offer any conclusion.

A. R. Rahman proved once again why he is hailed as a genius. Though the story is simple and didnot have any dialogues, he with his music, breathed life, adding soul to the narration, elevating the scenes and emotions.

Altogether, Gandhi Talks manages to impress few with a simple story. While Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami and Aditi Rao Hydari performed well, director Kishor Pandurang Belekar story offered nothing new. It turned out to be a silent light hearted entertainer and offered no solutions to the problems. The slow pace ends up testing the patience of the viewers. There are many confusinng and contradicting scenes and situations in the film making viewers wonder whether to show sympathy or anger. Considering all these elements, Cineosh goes with a 2.5 rating for Gandhi Talks.
