Vir Das Directorial Debut Happy Patel Promises Laughter and Adventure

The teaser for Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, Vir Das' directorial debut, produced by Aamir Khan is out now, showcasing the comedian's hilarious take on the spy genre. Produced by Aamir Khan and Vir, the film is set to release on January 16, 2026.

The trailer introduces Happy Patel, a would be spy who has failed to enter MI7 seven times. Unaware that he's Indian, Happy is sent to India for a mission, leading to a series of comedic mishaps as he tries to blend in.

The film boasts an impressive cast, including Mithila Palkar, Mona Singh, Sharib Hashmi, Srushti Tawade, Imran Khan, and Aamir Khan. Aamir plays the role of Mona Singh's father, marking a reunion with the actress after their collaborations in 3 Idiots (2009) and Laal Singh Chaddha (2022).

Kavi Shashtri co-directed the film with Vir and also produces it alongside Aparna Purohit, Aamir, and Vir. The screenplay is written by Amogh Ranadive and Vir, promising a fresh and entertaining take on the spy genre.
