Record Theatrical Business For Jana Nayagan

Vijay, affectionately known as Thalapathy, continues to dominate the box office even without a star director. After the decent success of  The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), his upcoming political action thriller Jana Nayagan is breaking pre‑release records. Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, the film is slated for a Pongal 2026 release on 9 January 2026, and its theatrical and non‑theatrical deals have already surpassed expectations.

The movie has secured a record‑breaking digital rights deal with Amazon Prime Video for ₹110 crore and an overseas distribution pact with Phars Films worth ₹75 crore. In Tamil Nadu, Romeo Pictures acquired the rights for ₹100 crore, while the same group snapped the Kerala rights for ₹15 crore. Audio and other ancillary rights have pushed the pre‑release business past ₹300 crore, and with Karnataka, satellite, North India and Telugu theatrical revenues factored in, the total business is projected to touch ₹400 crore.
