HC quashes Shilpa Shetty and her husband plea. Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra approached Bombay High Court with a plea seeking permission for the Phuket between October 2 and 5 for a leisure trip, citing confirmed bookings of travel and stay.

However, the court rejected their plea in the Rs 60crs fraud case. They approached the court to quash the lookout notice issued against them which prevents them from travelling abroad. During the hearing, advocates Niranjan Mundargi and Keral Mehta, appearing for Shetty and Kundra, pointed out a 2021 criminal case against the couple and argued that despite earlier cases registered against them, they have cooperated with investigators, travelled outside India multiple times, and always returned.

They presented “The couple has been allowed by the court to travel on 12 occasions between 2022 and 2025. They have travelled and duly followed the conditions”,

Chief public prosecutor Mankunwar Deshmukh countered and urged the court not to entertain the plea, clarifying that the couple has two serious criminal cases pending against them. “It would not be appropriate to grant relief at this stage,” he said.

The bench of Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Gautam A Ankhad directed Public Prosecutor Mankunwar Deshmukh, appearing for the state, to file a reply to the couple's plea. The matter will be heard again on October 8.

The couple sought permission from Court and cited their overseas commitments saying they have to travel to Los Angeles for work between October 21 and 24, followed by a trip to Colombo and the Maldives between October 26 and 29 for expansion of their hospitality venture, Hotel Bastian.

They further sought permission to visit Dubai and London between December 20, 2025, and January 6, 2026, to meet Kundra's parents.
