Simbu-Vetrimaaran project not shelved

Simbu-Vetrimaaran project not shelved. Vetri Maaran is known for his hard hitting, rustic and realistic films while Simbu is known for his high octane mass action films. When reports came that Simbu and Vetrimaaran will be coming up with a project, movie lovers got excited.

Later rumours spread that the project referred to STR49 was shelved due to financial issues. Now it is coming out that the project is very much on and it is not shelved. The film will be going to sets from September.

The film is a part of Dhanush-Vetri Maaran's Vada Chennai cinematic universe.Reports have it that Simbu and Vetri Maaran decided to opt for unique financial model. A source shares  "Silambarasan TR has opted for a profit-sharing model instead of upfront remuneration,"

Director Nelson Dilip Kumar will be playing a cameo while Kavin and Manikandan are also roped in for the cameos. The film's promo teaser according to sources will be screened along with Rajinikanth's Coolie which is releasing on 14 Aug 2025.
